four August bank holidays that I have not been at home

August 6th 1915

Dear Mother,

I am writing there four times to let you know that I am in the best of health, and to let you know that I received your letter, it was on the road about a week before I got it, and when you write back, put this address, name number; C Company, No 2 Entrenching, Battalion B. E. F.  I have had a letter from Bootheby and I was sorry to hear that it rained for the church treat. I have not seen nothing of Algy or Cavy since I have been down here, I was thinking on Wednesday about the school treat. It makes me think at times, because it made me four August bank holidays that I have not been at home. Cannot stop to write any more this time so receive

The best of love

From your loving son
