Dear George,
Just a line in answer to your loving letter which I received this morning (Wednesday) for it seems to put new life in us when we receive a letter from you, I am very pleased to hear that you are both in the best of health as it leaves us all quite well at present. Your Dad did it well when he lost the 1 pound note but he lost two on a Friday night it was one of the men that works with him his name is Harold Mays from Ibstock and Lizzie Partners found them in the in the entry and they spent one of them and we had to go to Coulphin and he got the one but he has not given us that yet I don’t know what he means doing about it. Little Hilda is 1 year 4 months old today and she gets a fair little maggot. I am very glad to hear Harry is alright again for I don’t know what he would do if he starts with them again. I am sure that I am very pleased you got the parcel quite safe I had a letter from Bridget and she wants to know why you have not answered her letter. Your Dad + Harry and all at home sends their very best love to you both and wishes you the best of luck they are stopping all the fags this year so I think I have told you all this time hoping that you will have the best of luck with best love from all from your ever loving mother and all
